How this calculator works
A regular slotted container is made from a scored rectangular corrugated board sheet with four body panels, two sets of flaps and a side seam tab. Estimating its sheet area before ordering helps compare cartons and board consumption.
What the calculation does
The nominal panel run is twice the sum of the internal box length and width. Add the joint tab and your horizontal scoring allowance. The blank height is the box height plus two half-width flaps, with a vertical allowance. Multiply the blank dimensions to obtain board area, then scale by sheet grammage, quantity, waste and material price.
Important limitations
This is a material estimating rectangle, not a production-ready dieline. Corrugation flute, manufacturer scoring, board thickness, joint type, trim and cutout waste depend on your converter. Obtain a supplier-approved dieline before cutting.
Common questions
What does FEFCO 0201 mean?
It is the standard regular slotted box with a single side joint and top/bottom flaps of nominal half-width depth.
Are these outside dimensions?
No. Enter internal length, width and height. The blank allowances are separate and editable.
Does the board GSM include corrugating medium?
Use the grammage of the finished corrugated sheet, not just one liner. Manufacturer actual weight may vary.
