◈ On-device processing
01 / YOUR GARAGE
Add a vehicle or update its odometer
02 / COMPLETED SERVICE

Record a repair or service

Use the actual service date and reading. A matching maintenance plan updates automatically.

03 / CUSTOM SERVICE SCHEDULES

Plan the next service

Use the intervals in your owner’s manual. Distance and time are independent: whichever reaches its limit first is due. Leave either blank if not applicable.

Enter the exact date and reading of the last completed work. Newer matching log entries supersede this baseline.

04 / KEEP YOUR RECORDS

Everything stays in this browser unless you explicitly export it. Download backups regularly; clearing browser data can delete your garage. Calendar events are downloads, not automatic push reminders.

How to use this tool

Add your vehicle with its current odometer and preferred units. Record completed work with real dates, distances and costs. Use your owner’s manual to set custom maintenance intervals and enter the last completed service baseline. Review due work and export your service history.

Quick steps

  1. Add a vehicle name, current odometer, miles or kilometers, and a cost currency.
  2. Log completed services and build user-defined reminders using actual dates and readings.
  3. Check due services, print a report or export CSV, ICS and a full JSON backup.

Practical tip

Do not use a generic oil-change interval in place of your manufacturer’s actual instructions. Back up your local records regularly and verify calendar events after importing them.

Common questions

Can I keep a car maintenance log without an account?

Yes. Records are stored locally in your current browser with no sign-in or paid service. A full JSON export provides a portable backup.

Can the tool remind me about oil changes or tire rotations?

It displays due and due-soon indicators calculated from your own date and distance intervals. A downloadable ICS file creates date-based events for calendar apps. The website does not send notifications while closed.

How does the next service date or mileage work?

Enter the interval and last service baseline from your owner’s manual. A task is due when either threshold has been reached; matching newer completed service logs update its baseline automatically.

Can I print a service history when selling my car?

Yes. Print / Save PDF creates a service history and upcoming-maintenance report through your browser’s print dialog. CSV exports completed service entries, while JSON includes all vehicles and plans.

Does changing the currency convert costs?

No. Currencies are labels for each vehicle and existing records are never converted. Keep service costs in the same currency.

Does the planner use official manufacturer recommendations?

No. Set intervals from the correct vehicle owner’s manual, warranty schedule or qualified mechanic. PackFormulas does not diagnose problems or verify warranty compliance.

Free car maintenance log, service history and reminder planner

Keep a useful vehicle service history without building a spreadsheet or subscribing to a fleet management app. Add a car, motorcycle, van or other vehicle, then record work with dates, readings, costs and workshop details. Create your own repeat-service plans based on the instructions for your specific model. Save an editable backup or print your history when selling a vehicle.

How to record your car maintenance history

Name your vehicle and enter the most recent reliable odometer reading. Record oil changes, tire rotation, inspections or repairs with the actual service date and reading. Warranty or DIY work can have a zero recorded cost. Add receipt references, parts and fluid specifications in the notes. Edit an entry to correct a mistake instead of creating a duplicate.

Example: calculate when an oil change may be due

Maintenance intervals differ by make, model, engine, driving conditions and warranty. The planner does not guess them. Suppose a hypothetical schedule says to repeat a service every 5,000 miles or six months, whichever occurs first. If the last completed work was at 40,000 miles on January 15, the target becomes 45,000 miles or July 15. These figures illustrate scheduling arithmetic, not mechanical recommendations. When either threshold is reached, the item is due.

How matching service logs update reminders

When a saved maintenance entry has the same title as a scheduled task, the most recent matching completed entry becomes the new starting point. Enter consistent names for your task and log. The same distance unit stays with each vehicle to prevent silently mixing miles and kilometers. Odometer entries cannot exceed the current vehicle reading.

Print PDF, spreadsheet CSV, calendar ICS or JSON backup

Print / Save PDF uses your browser’s print dialog to make a legible history report with upcoming work. Service CSV lets you review completed work in Excel or another spreadsheet. Full JSON backup preserves all vehicles, service history and schedule settings and can be restored in another browser. ICS calendar export includes future dates for date-based service reminders only. A distance-only reminder cannot be predicted as a date. The tool does not send push or email notifications.

Privacy, backup and limits

This tool has no login, paid API or required account. Entries are stored in the current browser’s local storage and are not synchronized. Clearing site data, switching browsers or using private browsing can remove them, so keep a safe backup. Normal page assets and third-party advertising may still make network requests. This is not an official manufacturer's recommended schedule, recall lookup, safety inspection, repair diagnosis, or proof of warranty eligibility. Consult the owner’s manual and a qualified professional for important maintenance decisions.
