How to use this tool
Focus the typing field and start copying the displayed passage. Timing begins on the first character typed. The live display shows elapsed time, approximate words per minute and character accuracy. Reset or switch passages to practise again.
Quick steps
- Read the displayed practice passage.
- Type it into the field; the timer starts on your first character.
- Review WPM and accuracy, then restart or choose a new passage.
Practical tip
WPM is the conventional five characters per word, not a dictionary word count. Accuracy compares currently typed characters against the passage, so correcting an error changes the live score. Input-method editors and mobile autocorrect can affect results.
