How to use this tool

Set the repeat start date and household members, then create chores by room and estimated minutes. Choose daily, weekly, every two weeks, monthly or quarterly recurrence; assign a person or let the planner balance workload over time. Check tasks as they are completed, then export the visible calendar, printable PDF or backup.

Quick steps

  1. Add household members, or keep one person, and choose when recurring schedules begin.
  2. Build tasks for each room with a time estimate and repeat frequency; choose fixed or balanced rotating assignments.
  3. Check off dated chores, print a fridge-ready plan or export the calendar, CSV and full JSON backup.

Practical tip

Start with short daily resets and a few weekly tasks before adding deep cleans. Assign durations based on your home, not someone else's estimates. To preserve history across devices, export a JSON backup; local browser storage does not synchronize automatically.

Common questions

Can I make a daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule for free?

Yes. Save chores that repeat daily, weekly, every two weeks, monthly or quarterly. You can use the 7-day or 28-day view, check off finished work and print a schedule at no charge.

Can I create a cleaning schedule for roommates or family?

Yes. Add up to twelve household members and assign individual chores directly or select fair rotation, which balances the scheduled estimated minutes over time.

Does the cleaning planner repeat chores automatically?

Yes. Each dated occurrence is generated from your chosen repeat start. Weekly tasks use a weekday; monthly and quarterly tasks use a day from 1 through 28 so each period has the requested date.

How are chores divided fairly?

Fixed assignments stay with their chosen person. Other chores are allocated to the person with the least cumulative estimated scheduled time, with deterministic tie-breaking. It is a balancing estimate, not a guarantee of perfectly equal effort.

Can I print my cleaning checklist as a PDF?

Yes. Use Print / Save PDF and choose your browser's Save as PDF printer. The dated checklist includes assignments, room, estimated duration and completion marks.

Can I put my chores on Google Calendar or another calendar?

Download the iCalendar (.ics) file for the visible 7- or 28-day range and import it into a compatible calendar. These are all-day task entries, not a live synchronization feed or automated notification service.

Does this tool remember what I have already cleaned?

Yes. Completion checkmarks and your routine are saved in this browser when storage is available. Download a JSON backup before clearing browser data or changing phones.

Is my cleaning routine private?

Task details and checkmarks are processed and stored on your device, with no planner account or database. General site advertisements may load separately. Only send a backup or copied checklist to another person when you choose to share it.

What happens if I change the start date or repeat day?

Changing recurrence can change the dates that appear. Saved completion marks stay associated with the original task and date and only reappear if that exact occurrence still exists.

Free customizable cleaning schedule planner with recurring chores

A cleaning schedule only works if it survives beyond the first week. This planner creates dated daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly cleaning tasks, and lets you mark real completed chores instead of starting over with a blank printable every Monday. Use it for an apartment, family home or house share. It runs in your browser, with no login, paid scheduling service or online account.

Build a realistic room-by-room household cleaning routine

  1. Enter your household members, or keep one person for a solo cleaning plan. Choose when your repeat schedule begins.
  2. Add each chore with the room, estimated minutes and an appropriate frequency; fixed day tasks can be assigned directly, or rotated among household members.
  3. Use the 7-day view for this week and 28-day view to see fortnightly and monthly tasks. Mark actual chores complete as you go.
  4. Print the checklist, save as PDF, download a calendar file or CSV, and export a JSON backup for long-term use.

Worked example: a weekly routine that is easier to maintain

Suppose a two-person household plans to wipe kitchen counters every day (10 minutes), vacuum floors on Wednesdays (25 minutes) and clean the bathroom on Saturdays (35 minutes). These become dated tasks, not undated reminders. The automatic rotation uses the estimated minutes across the calendar so one person is less likely to receive all the long jobs. The example workload is 130 minutes across seven days: seven 10-minute counter resets plus 25 minutes of vacuuming and 35 minutes in the bathroom. Your actual cleaning time depends on room size and condition.

Daily vs weekly vs fortnightly vs monthly cleaning

Daily chores are short recurring resets, for example wiping surfaces and putting away clutter. Weekly chores are usually floors, bathrooms and laundry. Every-two-week chores suit jobs such as cleaning refrigerator shelves or dusting high surfaces. Monthly tasks can include vents, appliances and other less frequent upkeep. Quarterly tasks are useful for selected seasonal cleaning jobs. These are example intervals, not hygiene or safety rules: adjust for pets, allergies, household size, activity and the manufacturer’s care instructions.

How does fair rotation work?

The tool creates occurrences from your repeat start date through the calendar range. Fixed-person tasks stay fixed. For rotated tasks, it allocates occurrences to an available person with the lowest running estimated minutes, using deterministic tie-breaking so assignments do not change just because you switch from a 7-day to a 28-day view. This is a practical balancing heuristic, not a guarantee of equal time or agreement about task difficulty. Review assignments together and make adjustments when someone's availability differs.

Calendar, printing and backups

The printable report shows the visible dated schedule with completion marks and each person’s assigned work. Printing uses your browser's own Save as PDF option, not an uploaded document. The CSV contains dated tasks for a spreadsheet. The .ics file contains all-day calendar events for the current view and can be imported into compatible calendars; importing again may duplicate events depending on the calendar application. The JSON backup preserves the schedule and completion history. Export before clearing browser data or changing devices.

Privacy and important limitations

Your household entries and completion checkmarks are held in local browser storage on this device, not synchronized between devices. The website's general analytics or advertisements may still make requests as described in the privacy policy; avoid entering confidential details and do not share backup files publicly. Without browser storage, changes may not persist. The tool does not send reminders, book cleaning services, verify safe use of chemicals, or know when a task needs more frequent attention. Always follow product safety labels and never mix cleaning chemicals.
