How to use this tool

Choose the stock number on the label package. Paste spreadsheet cells or import CSV/TSV, or use one address per block. Map columns such as {{Name}} or {{Street}} into a print template. Select font, ink accent and first empty position, inspect every sheet, and print on matching Letter/A4 paper at Actual size or save the print job as PDF.

Quick steps

  1. Select the actual 5160, 5163, 5164 or A4 L7160 sheet stock, then paste or import CSV/TSV addresses.
  2. Map the spreadsheet columns, review the physical label preview and optionally customize one label or begin at an unused sticker.
  3. Print a calibration test sheet at 100% before using adhesive paper; then print / Save PDF or download the reusable project.

Practical tip

Before wasting adhesive labels, print a guide sheet on plain paper at 100% / Actual size with zero print-dialog margins. Hold it against the unprinted label stock. Correct consistent horizontal or vertical shifts using printer calibration in millimeters. This independent tool is not affiliated with Avery. Browser print scaling and printer unprintable margins may differ.

Common questions

Can I print Avery 5160 labels from Excel?

Yes. Export Excel or Google Sheets data as CSV, or copy cells and paste them into the spreadsheet input. Set the 5160/8160 compatible 30-label layout, inspect and print. XLSX is not directly supported.

Can I use partly used label sheets?

Yes. Enter the first unused label position on page one; later pages start at position one.

Which paper layouts are supported?

US Letter 5160/8160 (30), 5163/8163 (10), 5164/8164 (6), and A4 L7160/J8160 compatible (21). Check stock dimensions.

Can each label be different?

Yes. One CSV row becomes one label. You can also enter blocks of text, or repeat the same return address for multiple copies.

How do I fix a small print misalignment?

Print a plain-paper test at 100% and compare with the sticker sheet. Adjust X/Y in millimeters for uniform shifts. First ensure correct paper, no scaling, and matching stock.

Is there a PDF download?

Use Print / Save PDF and choose Save as PDF in the browser print dialog. There is no separate PDF generation engine.

Can I change one label individually?

Yes. Tap a filled label in the preview and apply a manual text override without changing the CSV row.

Are my addresses uploaded?

The label maker processes input in this browser tab and does not save it to a server or automatically in browser storage. This site may still load general advertising. Exported backups can contain private addresses.

Can I come back to finish?

Download Project JSON to retain your input, paper and calibration settings and individual edits. Keep address-list backups private.

What if text is clipped?

Reduce the type size, shorten long lines and proof every sheet. Some printer fonts and unbroken words need manual adjustment.

Print address labels from Excel or CSV without Word

Turn a spreadsheet of addresses into a sheet you can print without manual copy-and-paste or a subscription. Choose a measured label preset, copy spreadsheet cells or import a CSV/TSV file, select which columns appear, check an accurate sheet preview and print from your browser. Label content is processed locally; no application account is needed.

Worked example: 36 addresses on 5160 labels

Pick 5160 (30 labels on US Letter), paste a table containing columns Name, Street and City, and keep the matching template. Thirty-six distinct addresses need two pages: 30 labels on the first and six on the second. If you have already used four labels on the first sheet, enter position 5; only the first page skips used stickers, and the next page starts normally. Each label can be independently edited from the preview.

What the printable stock templates include

The three US Letter layouts are 5160/8160 (2⅝ × 1 inch, 30-up), 5163/8163 (4 × 2 inches, 10-up), and 5164/8164 (4 × 3⅓ inches, 6-up). A4 has the L7160/J8160-style layout (63.5 × 38.1 mm, 21-up). Every preset uses physical page dimensions, left/top margins and row/column spacing. These are compatibility descriptions only; PackFormulas has no affiliation with Avery or other suppliers.

How to map columns into an address label

The template uses placeholders with double curly braces, such as {{Name}}, {{Street}} and {{City}}. The parser handles UTF-8 quoted CSV fields, commas within fields, multiline values, semicolon-delimited exports and tabs pasted from spreadsheets. Click Suggest template from columns if your headings differ. The live workspace also includes a large readable label proof above the full sheet so you can see the intended output without zooming into tiny print. For an address list without columns, choose Separate address blocks and place a blank line between addresses, or repeat a single return address.

Make a test print at the correct size

  1. Match the product number on your label package.
  2. Proof every address, especially long names or unbroken text.
  3. Click Test alignment page and print on plain paper at Actual size / 100%, with matching Letter/A4 stock, zero margins and no browser headers.
  4. Hold the result behind unused label stock against light to check placement.
  5. If the entire layout is uniformly shifted, adjust horizontal and vertical calibration in millimeters and test again. Turn off guides before final printing.

Backup, privacy and limitations

Use your browser Print dialog to print or Save as PDF. Download Project JSON to save your source and layout for later, or export resolved label text to CSV. Backups may contain private postal addresses and should be stored securely. The app does not automatically save contact lists. Some printers ignore CSS page settings, clip non-printable edge regions or add scaling, so paper tests are essential. Reduce font size or shorten exceptionally long lines to fit physical label dimensions.
